Being Made Into Gold

 Being Made Into Gold

In 2 Nephi 23:12 it says, " I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir." As the city and the nation have become depopulated as a result of slaughtering by the Assyrians ( 2 Nephi 23:9); man standing alive has not only become more rare than finding gold, but we learn that those still standing have been sanctified by the Lord, ( 2 Nephi 23:3 ) making them worth more than even the most rare and valuable gold.
The Lord is not only literally creating more gold in the earth as we learn in 2 Nephi 23:13 it says, " I will shake the heavens and the earth shall remove out of her place." But, He is also making those that will trust in Him, and not be afraid; gain their strength through the Jehovah; whom can sanctify us when we keep our covenants and partake of His water of salvation ( 2 Nephi 22: 2-3 ).
According to Wikepedia, the way that gold is formed is through volcanoes, shifting of tectonic plates and erosion. This comparison that the Lord can make us into fine gold is a reminder to me that in order to become sanctified or holy before the Lord; most often we will go through tremendous trials that test our faith; and require us to either turn to Him, trust in Him, and obey Him; or fail by succumbing to Satan's temptations.
It is beautiful that the Lord revealed to Isaiah long before scientists would find out that earthquakes create gold veins literally in the mountain; but even adds more knowledge to Isaiah showing forth that spiritual earthquakes can make people into something even more precious than fine gold.
Studies have now indicated that earthquakes can create gold in only seconds as stated on the nature.com it says:
"Scientists have long known that veins of gold are formed by mineral deposition from hot fluids flowing through cracks deep in Earth’s crust. But a study published today in Nature Geo-science has found that the process can occur almost instantaneously — possibly within a few tenths of a second during an earthquake."
